Fall Holds Exciting Schedule
As we wind our way through July and the triple digit temperatures, there
are many activities to keep the body and mind occupied right now and
a huge list coming up for the fall.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY

An evening of jazz and a benefit concert for Street Angels Ministry (homeless
youth outreach), featuring the vocal talents of Ian Daniels, Ric Henry,

} The Greater Palm Springs Rodeo Chapter and The Daddy Bear Christmas
Fund present a Christmas in July event, benefitting AIDS Assistance Program,

COMEDY
Comedy Night at Azul, starring LA’s hottest comics, returns Saturday,
July 31 with pre-show at 6:00 pm and show at 7:00 pm. There is no cover
charge, but reservations are strongly suggested as they have packed the
house every month and turned away hopeful attendees.
Featured this month will be: Theo Von of MTV’s Real World Challenge,
Road Rules, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Last Comic Standing and Comedy

Czarina’s Ball, Frontier Emerald Kingdom Ball, presented by the

JAZZ
The 17th annual Jazz In The Pines, presented by the Associates of Idyllwild
Arts Foundation, is Saturday and Sunday, August 28-29. Besides world-class
music, there will be over 65 artists selling handmade items, including
art, sculptures, jazz memorabilia, jewelry and gifts. Special events
include the Saturday night jazz and jambalaya dinner. Music runs 10:30
am to 5 pm each day. There are three music venues, Holmes Amphitheater,
Stephens Hall, and the French Quarter. All parking is free. Shuttles

COMEDY BENEFIT
The Golden Rainbow Center presents an LGBT "Comedy Night",
starring Eddie Sarfaty and Michele Balan, Saturday, August 28 in the
Renaissance Palm Springs ballroom. Tickets are $45 and show
time is 7:30 pm, with a cocktail reception following.
TALENT SHOW
The Rainbow Talent Company presents the world premiere of The Rainbow
Show over Labor Day weekend, September 3-6, in Palm Springs at the
Palm Springs convention center. For more information or to register

will be Jill Whelan, “Vicki Stubing”, the captain’s
daughter on the tv series, The Love Boat; Gordon Thomson, “Adam

GAY FILMFEST
Cinema Diverse, Palm Springs’ Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, will
be held September 24-26 at The Camelot Theatres. It is presented by the
Palm Springs Cultural Center. Artistic Director and head programmer is
David Oliveras, an award-winning filmmaker.

} Les Dames du Soleil fall benefit show is Sunday, October 3 at Renaissance

} The Kinsey Sicks and Les Originales appear Thursday, October 7 at Hotel
Zoso as part of the special evening presented by Coachella Valley Repertory
Theatre, <I>Drama to Drag: Provincetown History Meets Palm
Springs’ Future<I>. The performance showcases the work
of historic playwrights who wrote some of America’s most famous
plays while spending their summers in Provincetown and includes selected
scenes from well-known theatrical masterpieces. Proceeds from the show
benefit AIDS Assistance Program (AAP) and Coachella Valley Repertory.

} The Golden Rainbow Center SAGE presents Leslie Jordan, live and in-person,
in his new show From Whence I Came Thursday, November 4 at

} A three-day festival, dedicated to women, is November 5-7 at Casablanca
Studios in Desert Hot Springs. The Women In The Arts event will celebrate
film, music, literature, theater and visual arts that are created specifically
